Are slower flights better?

Because your day wasn’t hectic enough, let’s add an hour to your flight.

Some brainiacs at the University of Cambridge think it’s a brilliant plan to slow down flights by 15% to cut fuel burn and help the planet.

Translation: Your next flight could drag on for an extra hour.

Supposedly, this will trim aviation’s carbon emissions by 5 to 7%, aiming for net-zero by 2050.

Flights are already a circus of delays and reroutes—do we really need them any slower?

They’re proposing slicker airports to make up for longer flight times. Yeah, right.

And apparently, this needs a “whole system process change,” but who believes airports, airlines, and manufacturers can work together? Maybe stick to dreaming, Cambridge.
